Additional notes:
This reference document is based on Hercus's pronunciation summaries in the Green Book 'WembaWemba Dictionary' and her thesis. Any language is a living language and will variations and changes. One of the challenges is writing how to pronounce a traditionally oral language with the words and sounds of a different language (English). The late Dr. Luise Hercus developed an orthography, a way writing down the language. This document uses that same orthography.
Suggestions (Teacher's Notes):
Use the Dictionary Word Search to look up phonemes for standard vowels and for the variations. Make lists and say them out loud. Create a Learning List for one of the phonemes. Write raps with an emphasis on specific vowel and consonant sounds.
