Word Detail
Perrməraya
To 'Pimp', To Betray,
Part of speech:
(Vtr)
Sources:
Editor: Hercus had entered part of speech for this verb as simply (V). This is probably partly because the meanings to 'pimp' and 'to betray' intransitive and transitive meanings. The Wamba word also ends in 'aya' which is normally a stative verb ending but the meanings given are not normally stative meanings. The (Vtr) part of speech has been added as the main meaning 'to betray' is transitive.
Notes:
This word was used particularly in connection with birds such as the noisy miner, who gave away any person sneaking after game.
